Boredom

WHAT CAN WE DO?
As a teacher you are full of enthusiasm for your subject and could probably talk about it all day. The majority of your pupils will not share this enthusiasm to the same degree and will quickly get bored if you talk for too long.
SO
Reduce the ‘teacher talk’ part of your lesson.
By reducing this part of a lesson, pupils will be working ‘on task’ more quickly and less likely to misbehave.
Emotional intelligence studies have shown that pupils learn in different ways – visually, orally, kinaesthetically etc. If one style is continually used then those pupils who cannot learn in that way will become bored.
SO
Vary your teaching style.
Try to ensure that over a range of lessons all learning styles are catered for. This way pupils will be less able to predict the format of the lesson and will remain attentive for longer.
